Bali Weather in 2026: Month-by-Month Rainfall, Surf Seasons & What to Pack

Published October 3, 2026

Bali weather is more predictable than many travellers expect, but the difference between a sunny dry-season morning and an afternoon downpour is still large enough to change your packing list. Here is how each month breaks down in 2026.

Dry season months: April to October

April and May bring lower humidity and occasional brief showers. June through September are the most stable months for diving, surfing and beach days. October is warm and often drier than early wet-season months, which makes it a useful shoulder option.

Wet season months: November to March

November usually starts with heavy afternoon storms that ease by January. February can be the wettest month, especially in northern and upland areas. Morning surf sessions are still common, but full-day outdoor plans should have indoor backups.

Surf seasons and diving visibility

West-coast surf breaks such as Uluwatu and Padang Padang work best during the dry-season swell from May to September. East-coast breaks, including Nusa Penida, often improve when the wet season sends cleaner wind directions. Diving visibility in Nusa Penida and Amed is generally better from April to November.

Packing shortcuts for each season

Dry season: sun protection, reef-safe sunscreen, quick-dry clothing and a light rain shell. Wet season: the same base, plus waterproof bags, stronger insect repellent and footwear that handles wet paths. For temple visits regardless of month, a sarong and shoulder cover are permanent packing essentials.
