Best Time to Visit Bali: A Season-by-Season Guide

Published July 18, 2026

Bali doesn't run on four seasons -- it runs on two: dry and wet. Knowing which one you're travelling in changes what a day on the island actually looks like, from how the roads feel to how green the rice terraces are.

Bali's two seasons

Bali has a dry season running roughly April to October, and a wet (rainy) season running roughly November to March. Temperatures stay fairly consistent year-round, typically 27-32°C (80-90°F), so the real difference between seasons is rainfall and humidity, not heat.

Dry season (April–October)

Days are sunny, humidity is lower, and conditions are generally considered ideal for beaches, surfing, diving and full-day touring. This is also peak season -- June and July in particular draw the most visitors, so flights, accommodation and popular tours can book up and cost more in those two months specifically.

Wet season (November–March)

Expect short tropical downpours, usually in the afternoon or evening, with mornings often staying sunny. It's also when the island is at its greenest and rice terraces look their most vivid, and accommodation prices are typically lower than in the dry-season peak.

Shoulder months, if you want fewer crowds

March, May, October and November are commonly recommended as shoulder months -- still warm, generally fewer tourists than the June/July peak, and often better value on accommodation. Whichever month you land in, confirm each tour's exact schedule before booking, since sea and road conditions can still vary day to day.
